Janitha Sukumaran

Janitha Sukumaran is Founder of Rantau+, one of Malaysia’s longest-standing independent communications consultancies, established in 1992. With more than 35 years of experience spanning journalism, strategic communications, reputation management and crisis advisory, she has counselled governments, multinational corporations, public-listed companies and purpose-driven organisations across Asia through periods of transformation, uncertainty and change.

She oversees Zero, the agency’s sustainability and intervention architecture practice, and leads the development of Narrative Intelligence, an approach that integrates communications, sustainability, data and AI to translate insight into action.

Janitha has served as Adjunct Professor for Sustainability Communications at UNITAR International University since 2022. She is a pioneer member of PRCA Malaysia and recipient of the 2026 UN Global Compact Malaysia & Brunei Forward Faster CEO of the Year Award (SME category).
